I can't

I can't... just the sound of it feels defeating. Is it all bad though? Do you ever use 'I Can't' as a catalyst for growth?

I can't is one of my favorite tools. Why? Because it is a shortcut, the fastest path to change and growth.

Usually, we hear things like, "If you think you can and if you think you can't, you are right." Essentially, this quote encourages us to say, 'I Can' because we will create the potential for ourselves to accomplish our goals. While 'I Can't' has taken away any chance of it working out for you at all.

I absolutely agree with this quote. It is a founding principle of my life. However, it is not the end of the story...

I can't does stop you in your potential to reach the goal by working to complete it yourself, alone. There are two ways to get the result you are seeking. One, is to put in the time and effort, learn all you can and do it yourself. The other, is to say, 'I Can't' and find a different way to still accomplish that goal.

When you accept that you can't, and still want to achieve the results it gets you looking in other directions for help.

Help could come in the form of a computer program that cuts out half the learning and streamlines things to give you the result without the hassle of learning and creating it all from scratch.

Help could come in the form of another person, who is gifted in this area where you struggle. They can do this in their sleep and love this sorta stuff while it is an uphill battle for you. In saying you can't and asking for help, you give that person an opportunity to shine where they love to shine, you help to feed their soul. You also cut the time it takes to get your results immensely. That person does not have the same learning curve you have and they will likely have it done before you even figure out where to start.

So while it is true that we should not use can't to limit our potential, we should know how using can't properly will greatly improve our efficiency and exponentially get us results faster.

How will you use 'I Can't' to streamline your life and reach your goals faster?

How will you proudly admit you can't to allow someone else a place to shine as they show up for you?

Like any good tool, there is a right way and a wrong way to use it. Use 'I Can't' properly as a tool in your life and watch as you are catapulted to another level faster than you thought possible.
